Adding turf (also known as sod) to your lawn is the fastest and easiest way to beautify your home or commercial property. Over time it can be a more economic solution compared to seeding, and the results are instantaneous! New seeding can take as long as 18 months to mature. A newly sodded lawn will be ready immediately. In areas with high runoff and erosion, seeding can wash away during the time it takes a newly seeded lawn to mature. This can result in additional cost to you as you wait for your new lawn to grow. Turf curtails erosion almost immediately upon installation. Turf also requires significantly less water to become established compared to seeding. Initial watering is required to help the turf become established. Afterward, the new turf actually insulates the moisture in the soil from heat, sunlight and wind.
